Air pollution and outpatient visits for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases: A time‐series analysis in Luoyang, China

Previous studies have shown that air pollutants a significant impact on cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases (CCD), but these focused more provincial capitals or large cities. This study was the first time to explore effects of CCD in Luoyang. In this study, generalized additive model (GAM) used establish single-pollutant model, multi-pollutant stratified modes age, sex season evaluate PM2.5, PM10, SO2, NO2, CO O3 outpatient visits for within week. The results showed all had with lag effect. there might be complex interactions among pollutants. no difference different genders ages, seasonal stratification SO2 greater influence spring summer, while NO2 winter respectively. significantly affected CCD, which greatest influence, combined various should considered strategies prevention CCD.
